This property is named for the four bellas who call this valley home — a mother, her daughter, and two beloved dogs. Pet-friendliness here is not an afterthought — it shaped how the place was built. If you are planning a trip to Himachal with your dog, here is what we have learned from years of hosting guests who bring theirs.
The drive up
The road from Bhuntar to Naggar is winding but well-maintained. Keep water available for your dog and plan for a stop every couple of hours. The altitude gain is gradual, which helps with acclimatisation. Most dogs adjust within the first day.
Before you book
Not every stay in Himachal welcomes pets. When you are booking, confirm explicitly that the property is pet-friendly — not just "pet-tolerant." At Abode of Four Bellas, all three room types welcome pets. There is a flat per-night fee that is disclosed upfront in every quote.
Trails and walks
Naggar has several trails that suit dogs. The walk to Naggar Castle is roughly twenty minutes from the property and passes through terraced orchards. For a longer outing, the trek to Jana Waterfall starts a short drive away. Always carry enough water for both of you, and check local conditions — some trails close during heavy rain or snow.
What to pack
Bring your dog's regular food — mountain town options are limited. A warm jacket if you are travelling in autumn or winter. A basic first-aid kit that includes tick removal tools. And a familiar blanket or bed, which helps with the transition to a new environment.
Our pet policy
We ask that pets are kept leashed or under control in common areas, and that they stay off dining furniture. We have a local vet on call for the duration of your stay. Read the full pet policy or browse our pet-friendly stay page to learn more.
